Your right to deletion

You have the right to request deletion of personal data that Fetolsa LLC holds about you in connection with Fetolsa Chat. This applies whether you are a customer who messaged a merchant on Fetolsa's platform, or a merchant who signed up for the service.

What data we hold

If you are a customer who messaged a merchant via a Fetolsa-managed WhatsApp number, we hold:

  • Your WhatsApp profile name and phone number
  • The content and metadata of messages you sent to the merchant
  • Order records (items, addresses, amounts) if you placed orders
  • Conversation timestamps and response logs

If you are a merchant who signed up for Fetolsa Chat, we hold:

  • Your business name and contact details
  • Your WhatsApp Business Account credentials and access tokens
  • Your payment method (stored via Paystack, not directly by Fetolsa)
  • Operational data (menu, branches, hours)

How to request deletion

Send an email to privacy@fetolsa.app with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and include:

  • Your full name or business name
  • The phone number you used (for customers) or registered email (for merchants)
  • The merchant's name you interacted with (if you are a customer)
  • A clear statement of what you want deleted

We will:

  1. Acknowledge your request within 5 business days
  2. Verify your identity (we may ask for confirmation from the phone or email you used)
  3. Delete or anonymise your data within 30 days
  4. Confirm completion by email

Exceptions

Some data must be retained for 7 years under Nigerian tax law (order records, payment receipts, invoices). We will restrict internal access to this data and remove identifying personal information where possible, but cannot fully delete it before the 7-year period expires.

Escalation

If you cannot resolve your request through Fetolsa directly, you may file a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at https://ndpc.gov.ng.
